Postpartum Doula Support Packages

Life with a newborn was never meant to be done solo.

As a mother, and a Postpartum Doula, I understand that no matter how well planned or positive your experience, birthing a baby is strenuous.

Little acknowledgement is placed on the fact that with the birth of this beautiful baby, or babies, another birth has taken place, THE BIRTH OF A MOTHER!

A new mother may be struggling with feelings of shock, pain or overwhelm over her birthing experience, followed by instability and confusion, as she finds herself grappling with an identity crisis.

Who am I now?

Sleep deprivation, as well as physical and structural changes to the new mother’s body, compound this life-changing event.

She is trying to give herself time to recover but the demands of a newborn are relentless and all-consuming.

I want you to feel heard and held during this time and so it is with this intention that I have created these support packages for you.

Comprehensive Postpartum Doula Support

This package has been carefully and thoughtfully designed to provide holistic continuity of care to enhance the peacefulness of your postpartum.

What is included?

Five Postpartum Visits in your home - (each visit around 2 hours) * Following is a guide only. Every family is unique, which means needs will be different, and could indeed change from visit and visit.
And that’s okay! I’ll adapt!
* Additional visits can be purchased

Emotional Support

Becoming a mother is transformative!
I’m not just talking about the method of delivery of your baby, or your birth experience, although that is a big part of it…what I also want you to remember is that when a Baby is Born, the Mother also experiences a birth, and a shift of identity.
The new mother, who is understandably absorbed in the needs of her newborn, may struggle with feelings of confusion, emotional exhaustion and a general feeling of unsettle.

During these visits I will help you to understand the ways you have transitioned physiologically, hormonally and emotionally and nurture you as you navigate your way through these changes.

You can be sure of an empathic listening ear when you need to debrief, chat or cry, and a reassuring safe presence to facilitate your confidence in your parenting.

I will help you work with your baby brain (yes, this is real!) in a useful way, and increase your Oxytocin levels, a beautiful hormone that is released when we feel love & connection.

Cups of tea and hugs are included!

Physical Support

Birthing a baby is a physically fatiguing event, awkward positions can be held tightly in the body for numerous hours, and it’s common to feel ‘damaged’ and misaligned following birth.
I understand the physiology of pregnancy & birth, the adjustment to a birthing mother’s pelvic girdle and the common discomforts associating with spending long periods of time cradling and feeding your baby.

As a qualified and skilled Remedial Massage Therapist, I am able to bring my massage table to your home and give you a therapeutic massage.

In addition, I offer Postpartum Belly Binding, a traditional cultural practice to ‘wrap the mother as you do the baby’.
This practice may assist in involution (contraction) of the uterus, bringing organs and structures together, including abdominal separation and supporting posture to minimise back, pelvic and abdominal pain.

Practical Support

I will prepare and arrive carrying a home-cooked meal with emphasis on your Postpartum needs and leave it in your fridge, with some tea & lactation cookies.

I can take care of light household chores such as tidying up the kitchen, making beds with fresh linen and folding laundry.

I can sit with, or guide you, when you are feeding, bathing or settling your baby, and help you understand your baby’s cycle, body language and behavioural cues.

As a certified Baby Massage Instructor, I can teach you when and how to do baby massage.

Informational Support

Please be aware that you don’t need information overload at this time, the intention for any information provided is to build confidence in your own parenting style and to reinforce your own innate wisdom as your ‘baby’s expert’!

I can, however, offer tools and guidance to support your baby’s breastfeeding, sleep, settling and daily routines.

If you need additional support from an expert, I have a tool kit that provides a comprehensive list of services, resources, classes & treatments available in your local area. I have done the research for you, so you can focus on your own physical & emotional health and bonding with your newborn.

This includes, International Board Lactation Consultants (IBCLC), Pelvic floor Physiotherapists, Perinatal Psychologists, Naturopaths, Sleep Consultants, nannies and the like. I do the research for you, so that you can focus on your own physical and emotional health, as well as bonding with your baby.

I engaged Keturah for her Premium Postpartum Doula Support package with my third baby and my only regret is that she wasn’t in our lives when I had our two older children! It was easily my most peaceful and supported postpartum time and that is all due to Keturah.
I was nourished physically by the beautiful meals and snacks she brought with each visit and her relaxing and healing remedial massages. I was nourished mentally during our conversations through her innate caring demeanour and her clear passion for supporting mothers. She even took the time to teach my older child and me some baby massage techniques.
Our weekly sessions finished when my baby was around five months old and it still felt too soon to say “see you later”. I will forever be grateful for the time Keturah spent with our family.
— Leah, Rydalmere

Thank you so much Keturah! The massage was divine and I’ve just devoured a muffin , a couple of cookies and now the soup. Feeling so blessed and nurtured! The food is so nourishing and moreish!

I loved talking to Keturah about my birth and postnatal life. We could have spoken for hours! Her warmth, empathy, understanding, wisdom and tips were so nurturing and inspiring. And the massage was truly magical! I didn’t want it to end. I felt incredible cared for by the end of our session.

Would highly recommend Keturah’s services to any mother after giving birth. It’s what we all need to support ourselves through such a big transition to motherhood.

Kate, Stanmore
